Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc.
The Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc. (FoFHP or "Friends") is a charitable corporation under the Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)(3). FoFHP serves as the support group for Halifax Township assisting with maintenance, development, management, and the educational, historical, and nature programing of Fort Halifax Park.
Mission
- To help foster understanding of the relationship of Fort Halifax to Pennsylvania and early American history
- To help preserve and maintain Fort Halifax Park
- To encourage public enjoyment of the park as well as use of the Park for environmental and historical education
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors meets regularly on the second Thursday of every month. All members are welcome to attend. Meetings are held at the Halifax Area Historical Society (HAHS) located in downtown Halifax at the corner of 3rd and Market Streets, Fort Halifax Park, or via phone conference (during Covid-19 restrictions).
The meeting date and place is announced on the Home page, Facebook page, or communicated to members through the Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc. mass member emails. Board Member elections are held every November. All members are notified two weeks prior and welcome to attend to cast their votes. Honorary Board
