Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc.

The Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc. (FoFHP or "Friends") is a charitable non-profit organization under the Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)(3).  FoFHP is an all volunteer service group that supports Halifax Township for benefit of Fort Halifax Park.  FoFHP members are responsible for increasing public enjoyment of Fort Halifax Park by providing quality educational programs, managing and developing infrastructure, and maintaining and preserving the environmental and historical integrity of Historic Fort Halifax Park and Preserve.

Mission

  • To help foster understanding of the relationship of Fort Halifax to Pennsylvania and early American history
  • To help preserve and maintain Fort Halifax Park
  • To encourage public enjoyment of the park as well as use of the Park for environmental and historical education

  • Many Committee Chair positions open: Fundraising, Event Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Librarian, Hospitality.  If you are motivated, creative, have fresh ideas, are positive, and forward thinking, contact us, thank you!
FoFHP Meetings Information:
  • The Board of Directors (BOD) meet on the second Thursday of every month.  We welcome and encourage our members to attend to offer suggestions, solutions, share ideas, and be involved as much as they are able.  
  • Meetings are held in Yeager House at Fort Halifax Park.  During very cold or snowy weather the BOD will decide if it is better to meet at the Halifax Area Historical Society (HAHS) building.  HAHS is located at 228 Market Street in Halifax - we thank HAHS for their support.  Members may also attend via phone conference.  Please email or call (223-237-0988) us if you would like to obtain instructions to dial in for a meeting.

  • Yearly Board Member Elections Process (Bylaws Article VIII) - 
    • Nominations are held during the October board meeting. 
    • Elections and last minute nominations are held in November during the General Membership/Elections Meeting.
    • ​​All members receive meeting notifications via email or USPS two weeks prior to elections.  We encourage all members to attend the October and/or November meetings to cast their votes.
