Jon Tritt
|
Meet Artist Jon Tritt. Jon enjoys and has been seen painting at Fort Halifax Park.
He writes... "I have been involved in drawing, art and photography since I was a child. On a typical day, you can find me either working in my studio or Plein air. Working in my studio allows me to concentrate on details and tight compositions, but painting Plein air allows me to be in nature, enjoying the fresh air and being in different environments, and to see real light on subjects instead of working from a photo. Nature is where I draw inspiration for my artwork which includes birds, butterflies, insects, flowers, animals and landscapes. I work in various mediums including watercolors, acrylics, oils and ink. I enjoy the challenge of experimenting with various techniques to create realistic and impressionist drawings and paintings. I also teach watercolor classes which have a workshop atmosphere rather than a typical classroom. In addition to gallery shows, you can see my work at various outdoor art events across central Pennsylvania." Jennifer Lynn Becker
Meet Artist Jennifer Lynn Becker. Jennifer is local to central PA, will be featured at the FHP Butterflies, Birds, Bees, and Blooms Workshop on June 19 has exhibited at the Ned Smith Center, other galleries and shows, and is now featured here on our Virtual Showcase page. Jennifer describes her artistry... “The botanical artworks that I create are part of a larger conservation initiative that I am pursuing. It is my attempt to bring awareness to the often overlooked yet very important beneficial organisms that play vital roles in healthy, biodiverse ecosystems. Part of my goal is to inspire positive associations between native plants and the organisms that rely on them, so in effect this imagery serves as an educational tool. The original watercolor paintings depict insects, pollinators and birds with host and nectar plants that are native to Pennsylvania and the wider Mid-Atlantic region. I have selected several species that are threatened or critically endangered in order to highlight the importance of acting soon by using techniques such as native gardening and habitat restoration so we can prevent their extinction.” Don't miss out on her incredible talent, click on each image!
