Canoe and Kayak Paddle 2019

On July 20, 2019 FoFHP sponsored their 2nd Annual Canoe and Kayak Paddle. Participants departed from MYO Park in Millersburg and paddled south on the Susquehanna River to Fort Halifax Park. Everyone enjoyed a light picnic lunch at Fort Halifax Park after the trip. This event included over 30 kayakers, many who also participated last year. Thank you to our FoFHP member coordinator and volunteers, Bob S., Norma, Tiffany, and Jim, our SRTA volunteers, and community participants. It was a beautiful day for a Paddle! (July 2019)  

Canoe and Kayak Paddle 2018

On Saturday, July 14, 2018 the Friends of Fort Halifax Park hosted the 1st Annual Canoe and Kayak Day on the Susquehanna River. Our Vice President, Bob Swope, organized this enjoyable event. About two dozen people registered their canoes and kayaks for what turned out to be a perfect summer day to float down the Susquehanna! MYO Park in Millersburg was the cast off location with the float ending at Fort Halifax Park. FoFHP members prepared a picnic of hot dogs, drinks, snacks, and S’mores, for everyone after the float. It was a super nice day with everyone wanting us to do it again next year!
